Dr. Gaston Gonnet

About me

Gaston received his doctorate in computer science from the University of Waterloo. He is skilled in Symbolic and Algebraic computation, in particular, solving equations (symbolically and numerically), system development, limit and series computation, heuristic algorithms, text searching, and sorting algorithms.

Gaston also developed Darwin Programming Language for biosciences, which would become the basis for OMA, a package for gene orthology prediction.

About me

Mardi holds a Master of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honor’s bachelor’s degree in political studies from Queen’s University.

Mardi served as Vice President, of AI Governance Programs for NuEnergy.ai. Recognized as an expert in the field of AI Governance and the AI regulatory environment. Mardi also served as Chair of the Muskoka Watershed Advisory Group and Chair, of the KidsAbility Foundation.

Joseph Lafleur

About me

Joseph studied business at Wilfred Laurier University and takes pride in his involvement in many associations and charitable groups in the Waterloo region.

Joseph has spent time in private debt, and equity and founded a venture capital firm that assisted companies through capital raises. Also, Joseph has worked closely with many technology companies through their IPO process.

Tim Snider

About me

Tim holds a Master of Computer Science from McMaster University and a Bouvier-poodle named Patsy.

Tim has worked with big data since helping to move the Oxford English Dictionary from paper to disk and creating one of the first (pre-Google) full-text indexes of the internet. Tim has also worked on a variety of commercial and research projects, including a column-oriented analytical SQL engine, a SQL to C translator, and a text analysis tool based on probabilistic finite automata.

About me

John graduated with a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 2008.

Since then, he has worked with Tim Snider and Gaston Gonnet on a variety of projects before joining PolyML in 2018. John has over 15 years of experience delivering enterprise-ready software solutions to clients in Banking, Insurance, and Manufacturing, covering data integration, data asset pipelines, and data analytics tools and processes.

About me

Ahmed holds a Master of Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation from McMaster University and a Master of Science in Mechatronics from the University of Glasgow.

Ahmed’s background is a mix of Mechatronics Engineering, Business Innovation, and Design. Participating in several start-up and robotics projects, he gained experience in developing technology in a human-centered way for an efficient user experience.

Reza Babaee

About me

Reza, with a Ph.D. in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo, excels in developing data analytic agents. Using LangChain, he created a prototype for extracting and aggregating data from SQL and CSV sources, enabling seamless natural language queries.

During his Ph.D., Reza specialized in statistical learning techniques, training predictive models for software faults and errors, especially valuable for black-box systems and rare event prediction.

About me

Chris holds a Master of Mathematics in Data Science Degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degree from the University of Toronto.

He has past experience working in startups in the data science and artificial intelligence field and is an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve.
